Joy of a New Book | Reading

You have your spot ready, a comfortable position to sit, the temperature just right, and a new book you've been wanting to read is in your hands ready to get some eyes on it.

I've been a reader since I was approximately 11 or 12 years old.

Maybe even before, if you add in me reading all the stories that's published in my English School Books during the holidays. And almost 99% of them being fiction.

But somewhere around 7 years ago, I switched my entire genre of reading to non-fiction, philosophy & psychology.

Which has helped me extremely.

But, I had been itching to get some good fiction books to assist me tickle the imaginative part of the brain.

I tried getting back to it with the help of some classic books, but none of them did the trick.

Then, a Youtuber named Chris Williamson (Modern Wisdom), recommended a book called ‘Red Rising’.

I gotta tell you, I have not been using my phone for the last 1-2 hours of the day and instead been reading this book for the last 2 weeks. (And that is mind-blowing)

That's how much this book got me into it's world.

So much so that I got the second book in the series and am almost about to finish it.

I have clearly and thoroughly missed the joy of reading incredible stories with fantastic World building.

Now that I am back on the bandwagon, I see how reading good fiction can help with inspiration for my creativity in general along with ideas for my Drawings.

If you are reading this, I can assume you like reading too. This Blog is basically a cry for help from me to you asking to suggest me some of THE BEST fiction books you've read.

I see the value in reading as a habit. Especially the non-fiction and self help ones.

But the sheer simplicity of a good story told well with engaging writing, characters you can see yourself in, worlds you could immerse into is something on a whole another dimension.

As humans, stories are the life blood of the species.

And I'm glad to be back on the search of good stories. (Along with my other genres for sure)

If you got something I could read, you know what to do.

Best,

Kapil.
